AMACO© has developed a clear sealant for Giclée
inkjet prints that protects and makes them water resistant.
There are many pluses, but with all the advantages of this new fine art reproduction technology comes one drawback. The inks used in inkjet printers are waterbased. Even when completely dry, inkjet prints are vulnerable to smudging, smearing, and damage from exposure to liquids and other substances.
After applying Genesis® Inksettm, you are assured of the protection you need and the surface is ready to be enhance by highlighting with Genesis® Artist Colors.
Genesis® Inksettm is a unique top coating unlike anything ever made for waterbased inkjet media. It is a non-toxic, odorless, acid-free sealant with UV additives to protect and add longevity to inkjet prints. Apply Inksettm with a squeegee for a smooth surface or an artist's paint brush for a textured surface.
Because it is a heat-set medium that dries at 265 degrees F. Like Genesis® Artist Colors, Inksettm allows the user total flexibility to decide when it will dry. The inkjet media surface chosen must simply be able to withstand this temperature which both canvas and paper do.
Inksettm can also be used to enhance a giclée when applying with a brush. Apply it to a reproduction print like you were painting for a brushed texture that makes the Giclée look like the real painting. After sealing the prints with Inkset, add contrast, highlights or shadows to the image by applying Genesis® Artist Colors.
